Republican U.S. Senate candidate Christine O’Donnell put together a commercial that insisted that, uhm, she’s “you.” Here, take a look:
The sort of well done, but saccharin-sweet commercial has steamed some Wiccans. Well, at least one:
“She says, ‘I’m not a witch, I’m you,’ ’’ complained Amy Blackthorn, a 28-year-old Wiccan from Newark, who protested at the event. “That’s the problem. I am a witch.’’
Actually, that’s not really the problem. The real problem is that O’Donnell claimed that she “dabbled in witchcraft” on Bill Maher’s Politically Incorrect television show in October of 1999:

Among other problems. How about her claim that scientists had created mice with fully functioning human brains? She is a complete moron. I’m all for reducing the size of government, but I won’t support idiots to elected office.

Actually what the witches should be angry about, is her claiming that her first date was on a satanic alter. Witches don’t believe in Satan nor do they have satanic alters. Satan is a xtian deity and does not exist in Wiccan lore. She dated a Satanist, not a witch, big difference.

Christine O’Donnell is the gift that keeps on giving. I’d almost forgotten about the mice thing. Did she get confused one night after watching a re-run of Pinky and the Brain?
Cute, though, isn’t she?
One thing, though: this ad came out AFTER Bill Maher released the witch clip. So “I’m not a witch” is actually a response to that controversy.
