Chris Edwards of the Cato Institute has written a nice summary of the bad ideas that can be found in Obama’s new spending plan.
- A temporary payroll tax cut. This is not a tax cut at all because the president would “pay for it” with tax hikes later on. And if it’s temporary, it won’t encourage businesses to hire additional workers anyway.
- More federal infrastructure. When the federal government spends on infrastructure, it often misallocates the funds. The list of federal infrastructure boondoggles and cost overruns is endless — in public housing, dam-building, Corps of Engineers projects, bridges to nowhere, high-speed rail, etc. Instead, what we need is higher-quality infrastructure spending financed and built by the private sector. We need private airports, private air-traffic control, and private toll highways.
- A federal infrastructure bank. Such a financial scheme would reduce transparency in federal spending, which would go directly against a key Obama promise of increased budget transparency.
- Federal jobs training programs. Since the 1960s, federal jobs-training programs simply haven’t worked.
- New business tax credits. New tax credits for hiring will distort business decisionmaking and, by making the tax code more complicated, such credits would encourage more tax cheating. They would be the exact sort of tax loophole that Obama claims to hate.
- Crony capitalism. When Obama talks about “government and business working side-by-side,” it sounds to me like an invitation to corruption.
- Extending unemployment insurance. Such subsidies would help keep the unemployment rate high.

My Work Plan by Peter Baxter retired Management
Consultant
1 My executive summary. The world has too many people demanding
too much resources this must be controlled. Only China has achieve
success in the war against population growth the rest of the world has
lost. My advice to China is only help those countries that have
followed your example and controlled their populations. We must have a
United Nations plan that tackles this problem of overpopulation now
2 Marketing and Sales strategy -The United Nations Charter of Human
Rights states everyone is entitled to their property and this is step
two we will house everybody by building ecologically friendly homes
for everybody in the world. We will have a United Nations controlled
mortgages, that everyone can trust and can afford to pay.
3 My team and personnel We need people trained to complete the above
tasks and to achieve this we will offer free web based training. No
one will be unemployed again those who are between jobs will be
retrained on their computers. Employers will estimative their needs
and this will be the basis for peoples training.
We don’t have sufficient workers to complete the task of homing
everyone, my guess is we will need to build homes in factories and
assemble them on site.
Remarks No one will be judged on qualifications alone again but on
their proven problem solving abilities. We have too many qualified
idiots and not enough problem solvers.
Please compare my plan with President Obamas
This plan will never be accepted because of the Greed of a few
plutocrats who control everything today including President Obama.
However we do have a vote and we can vote for leaders who will
implement this plan or one just like it for it is based on everyone’s
human rights.

China’s “success” on the population issue was achieved via forced abortions, kidnappings, imprisonment, beatings and murder. A less morally dubious way to reduce population growth would be to let people become affluent enough that birth rates fall naturally, as they always do.
Blame “greed” all you want, but the fact is that no sane person will cede control over his or her life to a repulsive world-government fascist like yourself. Thank goodness.
